match places
« on: November 07, 2008, 01:35:32 PM »
With ref to the match at alderfen.

Places are limited to 15 anglers. At this stage we are going to keep it limited to ravo members but if we havn't got the full 15 by next weekend then it will be open to anyone.

I have spoken to stu and adi and we all agree that the fee should be collected in before the match date. This will ensure that everyone that say's they are fishing will fish and that the charity will make as much money as possible. The deadline for making the payment will be one week before the match, this will give us a bit of a chance of filling any places should anyone have a change of heart.

To book your place you need to contact myself as I will be making the list and collecting in the money. The list is open from now and is  first come first served. I will keep this thread upto date as to how many places are left.

As for the rules we are going to have to have two sets, the first one will be the fishery rule which we must all meet. The second will be in ref to the match which we are open to in put for. Theres not going to be many, just some simple things to keep it fair and avoid anyone spiting the dummy out :D

There are two main things we need to think about. Firstly the draw, do we number the pegs and draw a peg number and thats the peg you fish or do we draw a number and the person with number one gets first pick of swims, 2 second pick and so on. Secondly the weigh in. There is no sacking of fish so fish are going to have to be weigh and returned so do we weigh these our selfs and get the person in the next swim to keep an eye on us for foul play or do we find someone who can come and not fish and do all the weighing on the same set of scales. Other than these two things there not much to look at but if anyone has any ideas then please post them as we need to get things sorted so we are not on the last minuite.

To book your place please email me at mail@thesolidoakshop.com or ring me on one of the numbers below
07971273040 mob
01709 854006 home
01709 851197 workshop

To pay the fee you can call at my house or meet me down at the pond, I will post when I am there.

Stu had big plans for this so lets try our hardest to fill all the places and make as much as possible :) If you think of anything I'm missing please let me know.

I'll be down at the ponds today if anyone wants to catch up and sort out their entry fee from about 10 onwards. I will be on the bridge pond maggot bashing.

just a thought , why don't we create a sponsor form of sorts ( by we , I mean someone who knows how to ) so we can take it to work or where ever and get a few extra donations for the cause . if it can then be published on here to download and then print , I'm we could raise a few extra quid .
yid army!

What I did think about was a small collection bag for each angler to take round family, friends and work mates. Do you remember the ones that you got from school collecting for the blind, well that sort of idea along with a covering letter. I hope to have these knocked up by the weekend and have them with me down at the lake.
