I would just like to offer my sincerest thanks to all the fantastic anglers, especially Andy and Adi, who have stepped in magnificently in order to ensure that the Charity Carp Match still goes ahead.
Unfortunately, my cancer has returned. Due to this I will be forced to spend a while in hospital undergoing further chemotherapy treatment over the next few weeks, which obviously required me dropping out of the organisation and participation of the carp match.
I cannot find the words to express my gratitude to all who have been so kind as to leave words of encouragement for me. I also shed tears when I hear of all those anglers who have selflessly promised to dedicate their time and effort into ensuring that the charity match that I so wished to be held, goes ahead, despite their pressing work and family committments.
I really hope that I will be able to attend Alderfen on match day to thank you all in person for your amazing efforts. Cancer is an incredibly cruel and devastating disease, and organisations such as the Cavendish Cancer Care Centre really does do wonders for sufferers and their families - as I myself know through first hand experience. I could not think of a more worthwhile charity to raise funds for.
My deepest gratitude and admiration goes out to all who participate and contribute in this fund raising Carp Charity Match.
Each and every one of you are top class anglers worthy of admiration - but are even better friends and human beings.
