Anyone suggest any bigger venues where you can get a day ticket or a weekend etc and it is possible to make some use of the line on my reel. :)

Cromwell!! Think of ravenfield but a lot bigger and thats cromwell, just as much weed. The place normally fishes it tits off before the weed comes up then again once it's gone. For a tenner the owner will take you out in the boat to find the clear spots in the weed and for 4 quid thay take your gear to your swim. There are from what I understand 39 different 30's in it so it's well worth ago if you can cope with the weed at this time of year.

I have not heared of any tackle thefts at the pits for a while but it's like any where else you need to keep your wits about ya. The only thing with the pits is like you say getting on but there are 6 to go at and all the regulars will tell you that it's not fishing, it's all a bit hush hush.

Have you not thought about Raker. About 7 acres with a good head of 20's[although I have yet to bank one] with some 30's for good measure. And I ad no weed, not to call out anyway.

http://www.rakerlakes.com/

Theres no booking from sun 2pm til friday 1.30, booking only for the weekend. If you are going in the week just ring steve the night before and he will tell you how many are on, there are only 16 swims.

If you are booking for the week end then you need to ring on the 1st of the month at 10am to book for the following month, thats as far in advance as you are allowed to book. You can then book for two weekends in the month but not on the same swim. This is to give everyone chance to get where they want.

All the swims produce fish but peg 12 seams to be the flyer with 10 and 11 close behind [10+11 is a double swim] There are some bars and troffs that run right pass 12 and on to peg 9 which seams to be the hot spot. In an ideal world you need to go when theres a sw wind as it blows between the two islands and on to 12. If you go give be a bell and I will tell you where the bars are.

LiverB8

It mush have gone up a bit since you went, either that or they ddn't like the look of me and charged me more £20 for 24h  :o

I've seen the pics of that ghost in the hut, its a lovely fish. Iv been a few times over the last few months but can't get over the 20lb mark, had one close at 19LB 12oz but I have seen plenty of 20's on the bank. Just a bugger that none of them have been mine.  :'(

Get your lass to walk up and down your back with stileto's on probably wont cure it but might take your mind off it.
