Hello to everyone.

I am new to this forum and Ravenfield this year.

It is always daunting joining a water that has seen the same faces for a number of years.

I am a good lad! and will abide by the rules of the forum and the water.

I have been carp fishing and fishing generally for 20 years and plan to fish the odd weekend with the majority mid week.

Just wanted to say hello

Thanks for that chaps. I understand that the weed can get out of hand in the summer and a good rakin' is often required so im happy to pitch in. I chose Ravenfield purely on location. Living in Sheffield doesn't really lend itself to joining syndicates as to my knowledge there aren't many within a 1/2 hour run of my home, fortunately Ravenfield is. Im sorry that there is an alcohol ban :( from what I understand this was caused by complete idiots but I suppose the price of the ticket reflects the fact that it will always attract the noddy element. Very sad as I love my little hipflask for purely medicinal purposes :) I dont expect this would wash though.Anyway I do look forward to meeting some of you over the coming months, I had a walk round on Saturday and the ice was patchy but looked like it was ready to take hold again :(

Indeed, if you are caught with a hipflask after April the comittee wil set fire to your bivy and car and then tar and feather you before dropping you off in the centre of sheffield with a sign round your neck telling the world what you have done.

You will be breathalized before ebing allowed to set your rods up too just in case you think you can have a skinfull before turning up :D

Now then

I live at Crookes with my wife to be.....flung in the pond if she moans about how much time I spend bankside.

Originally from Shiregreen (rough nowadays!)

You deffo seem like a good bunch, and I do understand that from an angling perspective on waters Like Rav new faces have to earn a bit of trust and I'm all for that so im not expecting any barbecue invites until next year :D

May I ask what in heavens name happened to have a complete booze ban? did Oliver Reeds spirit possess a quiet carper turning him into a booze crazed fiend who thrashed the pond to a foam with his marker rod...or summat! :-[ my doctor wont be pleased about this ;D anyone on the NCFF?

Won't be much of a BBQ without a beer to go with the burger anyhow :)

I still haven't decided on what to do regarding keeping my ticket or not. I was hoping to hear back from a syndicate but it is all quiet at the moment.

The guys at Ravo are a nice bunch. Even if I dont keep my ticket I will keep this going and keep in touch with them.

This is so frustrating! I could be making a big mistake by not getting a ticket.
