I know there are always rumours about what is in the great pond, mostly propogated by certain people, however, 2 years back I was maggot fishing in the great pond and was crouched down filling a bait box with water for my groundbait. A very dark looking carp swam past quite fast and it was so big it made me jump! It did catch me unaware and startled me so I only got a glimpse but it was very very broad. I would guess it was bigger than the average one you see in the carp pond.
