New Rules
« on: January 20, 2010, 01:01:23 PM »
New rules in place by the look of it.

Last rule:
20. Drinking alcohol and taking prohibited substances is not allowed whilst fishing.

I know quite a few current members like a drink, will this rule change your views on membership at all?

Everyone knows the people or person who have made the club make the rule changes.
Can I just say on behalf of all the other members who liked a few tins
THANKYOU YOU NOB.
It would have been easier as I've said many times before to just kick the person out of the club.

I think one of them was kicked out, having slept through a run due to being intoxicated.

I still can't make my mind up what to do. I have very limited funds to spend on fishing and I want to get the most out of what money I do spend.

It will be sad if I don't renew my Ravo permit, but I am sure there are plenty of potential new members, hence the £100 price tag, I also wonder how many of them will stick to the booze rule, I wonder how many will be aware of it before they pay?? lets face it this is a very strange rule for a carp fishery.

We all expect certain bait bans or hook patern requirements but getting banned for sipping a glass of wine on a summer evening or having a glass of cider will be bound to catch the majority out.

i agree ady but theres having a casual drink and theres getting rat arsed and thinking its acceptable ,  i would rather not drink at all than allow some of this years episodes to happen again like i said earlier the minority have kicked us all in the teeth and the club had to act on it as all public liabilitys are void if a accident happens under the influence of drink or drugs we will have to have a social with a cup of coco in our hands lol  ;D , also it doesnt alter what we go for and that is to catch some great fish from a great lake

I agree it is a nice lake with nice fish. Which is why I am a bit torn as to what to do. I got a Cemex ticket for £45 to fish 4 rods at Apex for 6 months and that has some 30lb fish in it, but it is going to cost more money to get there.

I can pay a bit more to fish all of Cemex bronze and silver fisheries including parts of Yately and even the river trent and the rules are quite laid back. But again it means driving. I have put my name down for Nev Frickling (or whatever he is called) pond too but dont know if I have got on it yet.

Im going to have plenty of time to fish but not much money. I always said I would keep my Ravo ticket if I ended up out of work because it was cheap fishing, which it was.

I just feel a bit like a school kid who is being given detention because one or two people in the class were messing about. It must be the only 'dry' carp fishery in the world! :)

Still I have until April to decide.

I AGREE WITH EVERYTHING YOU SAY ADY BUT IF YOU FISH SAY APEX ITS GOING BE REALLY HARD WORK TO GET A 30 THROUGH THE THE STOCKIES THEYVE PUT IN THEN YATELEY IS GOING TO BE A BALL ACHE DRIVING I ALWAYS CONCENTRATE ON ONE WATER A YEAR THEN HAVE A FEW WEEKEND TRIPS AWAY THEN I CAN PUT ALL MY EFFORTS INTO THE ONE VENUE AS FOR THE DRINK YOU COULD MAKE A CUPPA ADD 6 SUGARS AND A PINCH OF YEAST AND LEAVE IT FOR THE WEEK WE COULD ALWAYS TAKE UP ENERGY DRINKS AND RUN ROUND THE LAKE ALL NIGHT LOL ;D

Regarding the yately thing etc;

I realise it is a long drive to say Yately or any of the others down there, but I have plenty of time! I would be able to go for a week at a time or even a forthnight, wife permiting!

I like a challenge! I have to say the first time I sat on the bank at Apex I didnt have a clue where to start. Thre are a good bunch of regulars who post on the cemex site who are helpfull so I think I will renew my ticket there.

There are plenty of bailifs on there too, if you are pissed up you will be visited by a team of them who will happily relieve you of your permit and escort you from the premises :)

Nige if you want to catch up with me some time I will show you how to quote things without including your post in the quote :)

I thought you had got the hang of it recently but it seems not  ;D

Make sure you dont include your text inside the quote tags.
