Fishing Plans For 2010
« on: December 29, 2009, 09:09:20 AM »
So where is everyone going to be fishing next year?

I still haven't made my mind up, I am going to be out of work and was looking forward to spending more time on the bank but I have to say I think I would feel guilty if our lass is working if I am lounging around in the bivvy  ;D

I am thinking of getting the full silver permit for Cemex, which would be better if they had more fisheries up this neck of the woods.

I always said I would keep my Ravenfield ticket on if I got laid off at work but the impending complete ban on any kind of alcohol is putting me off. As I have said elsewhere I very rarely have any when Im fishing (or any other time for that matter) but I feel that I am being penalised for something I havent done. I have a few months to decide anyhow.
The commercials will be to expensive I think so maybe Carp fishing on free stretches of the rivers might be the way to go?

You could always try a catch a barbel next season , plenty of free or cheap fishing to be had around here if you know where to find them  ;)

Next year for me will be ; jan , feb and march on the rivers for perch , pike and hopefully we will get some milder weather for  a barbel . Then I will be fishing a little water where the biggun should be approaching 40lb , then from the glorious 16th I'll be back on the rivers .
I fancy catching a big rudd so will need to find somewhere with those in , I think Alderfen might be the place . Of course in between all that I'll be on Ravo  ;)

Stu out of interest, what does it cost to roll your own. I wont be able to pay shop prices for bait before long but i will have plenty of time ;)

I was planning on just using particles and corn on the hook to save money.

i you can make one for around £2.80 but i add additives and little bits and bobs so is more expensive  ;) next time your on the bank i will tell ya what ya need ok to start and most from the supermarkets  ok im hoping to produce to sell in the future so just trying different bits and bobs and very pleased ith the results ive been feeding 1kg 3 times a week since before xmas so they should be still interested when january comes along

Adi , I've rolled bait for some time now and the one I used last season on Ravo caught plenty but cost a fair bit more than £2.80 per kilo . probably nearer £6.00 , how are you making it for so little Stu ? I struggle to find a good fishmeal for £2.80 per kilo , is it mainly soya , maize flour/meal and semolina ?

steve mine costs more than £2.80 i was saying he could start making one for around that to start with but im not paying £6.00 either some where in between my basemix is to order specially for me for percentage levels at a very good price in bulk bags 50kg its took me a year to get the levels just right and i reckon it would catch fish anywhere so next year it will be put to the test  ;)
