Here is my last Barbel i caught 12 Dec, just below Dunham Bridge. 9lb 4oz.

Ah the lesser spotted flat barbel, a rare beast! Who else caught on of thses on the trent in 2009? Hmmmmm????

Yes Graham i do. Way i see it this last summer; it took over 90 barbel from the middle to catch a double. when i went on the tidal i had 4 doubles in 23 fish. I fished fiskerton last december which is a great venue, but half my catch was below 5lb, which is small. On the tidal the average is around 8-9lb. Its not all about numbers...
