What we coud do with doing is getting the info to the other Ravo carp wallers first about a match and guage the interest before we open it to anyone else.

It sounds like Martin might be posting a letter to the other Ravenfield carp men?

Don't know what anybody else thinks , but if Alderfern doesn't come off . How about approaching the committee about using the great pond for the charity bash . It would provide them with favourable publicitity and the opportunity heal a rift. Maybe I'm being "silly" but it could be a goer
yid army!

I'm certain they would let us, but I think Stu wanted a carp match the Great pond doesn't have that many carp in it I don't think. One or two big ones. Alderfen is well stocked with carp on their runs water.

I haven't heard from Stu for a while hopefully he's OK.

Hi there. Sorry for the delay in getting this entreaty out to Alderfen Fisheries, but I'm on some new drugs and they have wiped me out for the past week or so. I've attached the entreaty to this post for all members to be able to read. It contains information about The Cavendish Cancer Care Centre, so everyone will know why I am so eager to raise funds. Please read it.

My wife was speaking to me the other day whilst we walked around Ravenfield Carp Lake, and she said how nice it would be to still hold a match there sometime in the future when the weed had gone. Though I do believe that Alderfen is the best water to host the match and get a few runs, what would people say to holding another match next year at Ravenfield, sometime around March / April? Even if all goods donated are used at the Alderfen match, Terry informed me that Ravenfield have a beautiful plaque that resides on the wall of Wickersley Angling shop that could be used to have the winner's name inscribed upon, and it wouldn't cost much to purchase a few smaller trophies for 2nd, 3rd and biggest capture.

It's just a thought, and may avoid any unpleasantries with the committee, seeing as how they were approached initially with the proposal and passed it. It would also be a good way to work with the committee and build up some kind of relationship that could be beneficial in the future when dealing with problems concerning the carp lake.

Any suggestions anglers would like to make regarding the running of the match would be most helpful. Over the next day or so I will knock up a preliminary match rules list so that members of this forum can add their input. This will hopefully ensure the best layout possible for the match.

Stu sounds good to me, I would also be interested in fishing at Ravenfield, anything just to wet a line!

It would have to be when the weed has died back enough to give everyone a fair crack at the whip. Obvioulsy some swims arent bivvy friendly either.

Hi everyone. Hope you are getting your strings pulled good and tight. Take a look at the attached PDF file. It's the fishery rules for Alderfen fisheries. I'll let you know as soon as I receive a reply to the entreaty that I forwarded to them regarding the carp match.

Take care all.

Stu
