Martin has asked me to post a short statement on behalf of the comittee .
The comittee under no circumstances wish for the carp pond to receive a further raking this year , the reason for this is two fold . We believe it is currently not neccesarry and may do more harm than good at this time of the year , low saturated oxygen levels typical in warm weather combined with disturbing the weed as it decomposes could prove costly . Secondly as the lily pads have not recovered from the earlier raking we do not wish to do further harm .
Although we appreciate the sentiment any work that is carried out in the ponds is done after seeking professional advice , also we would not wish to deprive our members of the opportunity to fish at such a "peak" time , unless fish welfare was in question of course .
Thankyou
