Is this an official work party? Having chatted to most of the guys who did all the raking last year they sound like they might be 'raked out'. :)

i was talking to andy(the kid with the massive dog called hooch) this weekend and he and a couple of the lads will be down on wednesday morning about 9 ish to make a start on raking the weed which is coming up thick and fast, i understand that he talked to martin about this and he said he would get the boat and rakes out for them. i think it could do with a note putting on the gate telling other anglers about this raking taking place on wednesday morning to avoid upsetting anyone who turns up to fish

Im working so can't help, however if there were fifty members last year I would say only about 6 or 7 did any work. Its a crappy job too, the rakes are massive, although at least the weed isnt up to the top of the pond yet. :)

Oh and you will need chest waders too, its better if someone gets in the pond to lift the rakes out if they are full.

What sort of area have they put the chemical over? Or have they just done the lot?

THEY PUT THE CHEMICALS IN THE SWIMS AND AROUND THE PADS THEY CANT DO IT ALL APPARENTLY IT COULD TAKE ALL THE OXYGEN OUT OF THE WATER

I give up :( Weed takes O2 out of the water at night even if it releases it in the day, just like any other plant or tree. I guess it was too expensive to put any more in.

When you say they put it in the swims how far out did they go with it? Any idea who was in charge of the opperation?

Oh right, it sounds like they did more than it sounded like at first. That chemical wont kill the pads off, they use roundup for that put it has to be put on the leaves once they have got up.
