Having a good root around elswhere it seems that it can be transfered on landing nets. To stop this happening you need to disinfect a net in a good solution of disinfectant for 15 minutes then rinse it. Also the virus cant survive on a dry net. Obviously unhooking mats and weigh slings could also cause problems.

With many carp anglers fishing on venues abroad and on other fisheries a long way from home I suppose it can also be moved around the globe with nets and other gear.

Once recomendation is to make sure nets are 100% dry before using them on another lake.

So no chance of me spreading it then, I cant remember the last time my net got wet :D
