Our roving photographer managed to get a picture of the new top secret Carpkit head gear that is being field tested by Mr X their chief development angler.

Details are sketchy at the moment but we understand that the hat should be on sale this winter and has one or two unique tricks up its sleeve … or rim.

Most of you will be familiar with the initials CK, and if I mention mens underwear you will have probably worked out by now that the designer responsible for this hat is none other than Charlie Krapper, the name behind the legendary range of polo neck underwear made famous by the fashion icon of the 60′s Mavis Ramsbottom.

Charlie says he drew insperation from watching programs on the TV that showed “foriegn Johny’s” carrying things on their heads. There is room for 5 kilo’s of boilies in the top and a pork pie. Made from the new wonder material Spongdex means not only is it waterproof it is also stretchy and at a push could be used as boat for 2 people or a one man bivvy with the optional rim stretcher, which apparently takes some getting used to and takes a bit of practice to insert.

Prices haven’t been confirmed yet but it will be available in camo (obviously), Green or for those who like to draw attention a two tone one that is pink with a purple top.
